Medical Diagnostic Associates, part of Medical Corporation (MDIA), this week announced implementation of ElectRIS, a web-based medical imaging services product designed to serve as the diagnostic imaging component of the an electronic medical record.

"ElectRIS is the successful marriage of a picture archiving and communication system (PACS) with a proprietary radiology information system (RIS)," said Ronald J. Friedman, MD, president and chief executive officer, MDIA.

The company hopes the system will lower the cost of delivering quality diagnostic medical services through rapidly delivering electronic images to the reading radiologist and providing web-based archiving of images.
