MedCath, N.J. health system to jointly manage cath labs
MedCath Partners has entered into a new strategic relationship with Solaris Health System of Edison, N.J., to manage the catheterization laboratories of Solaris's two acute care hospitals.

The hospitals are:
  • JFK Medical Center, a 399 bed teaching hospital in Edison, N.J.; and
  • Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, a 396-bed acute care facility in Plainfield, N.J.
The Charlotte, N.C.-based MedCath said will make a capital investment of approximately $1 million in the venture and the other members will make pro rata capital contributions as well. However, the company said Solaris and local cardiologists will own equal shares of the management company.

“We are excited about the opportunity to work with such an excellent organization and high-quality physicians to expand this cardiac catheterization program in Central New Jersey,” said Ed French, MedCath's president and CEO.
