MedcomSoft, a provider of electronic medical record (EMR) software solutions, announced the integration of Kryptiq’s CareCatalyst and ClinicalMessenger with MedcomSoft Record 2006. MedcomSoft users will now have the ability to provide online patient services through a secure patient portal and to share patient records electronically from within the EMR. MedcomSoft Record 2006 allows drug prescriptions and laboratory results to be automatically codified using MEDCIN in the same manner as clinical notes. By integrating the CareCatalyst patient portal, MedcomSoft will allow patients to complete online forms which are also MEDCIN-codified, for automatic incorporation into the EMR as structured data. Patient portal services also include online registration, medical record access, appointment requests, prescription renewals, and doctor/patient secure messaging. ClinicalMessenger’s secure messaging capabilities also will allow users to share patient information with other providers in the community to streamline referral communications and improve collaboration of care.
