Medicalis has created an integrated, web-based network for radiology ordering and decision support in the state of Minnesota to apply evidence-based clinical guidelines to physician orders and facilitates real-time access to their local radiologists.
 
The structured ordering process and clinical decision support of the Medicalis network produces clear, appropriate requisitions which reduce unnecessary testing and ensure greater patient safety, said Medicalis. Three major payors in the state are now participating in the network and consider network participation by physicians and provide payors as an alternative to traditional phone-based radiology benefits management programs.
 
Medicalis said that more than 20 organizations have already joined the network to offer physicians, imaging providers and health plans common access to a cohesive solution that improves ordering efficiency and quality, while ensuring patient safety and care throughout the process.
