Medrad nets FDA clearance for wireless MR infusion system
The FDA has granted Medrad’s wireless version of the company’s Continuum MR infusion system 510(k) clearance.

The new Continuum Wireless MR infusion system allows clinicians to control a patient’s medication infusion during an MR procedure from both inside and outside the scan room, according to the Warrendale, Pa.-based Medrad. When changes are needed, including flow rate, bolus, or to start or stop the infusion, the company said that clinicians can control the parameters without interrupting the MRI scan with a new wireless remote display featuring a color touchscreen.

Medrad said its Continuum Wireless joins the Veris MR monitor as the second product to utilize Medrad’s Certo MR wireless network.
