Merge Healthcare
Merge is showcasing technology enabling mobile image viewing.
Merge Healthcare (Booth 415) is showing a panoply of imaging-based products.

Merge Revenue Cycle Management, being previewed as works-in-progress, resolves lags in payment reimbursement by tracking payments and denials at each stage of the revenue cycle. Organizations can replace the complexity of multiple billing processes with a cash-flow solution that works directly within Merge's RIS and RIS/PACS solutions. The product meets HIPAA and EDI requirements.

Merge Mobile, being previewed as a work-in-progress, will enable patients and healthcare professionals to view digital medical images on an Apple iPhone or iPod touch. Applications using Merge Mobile technology are in development, and will enable referring physicians to review secure medical images and reports while on rounds, on call or even on the golf course via their iPhone or iPod touch.

Merge Patient Kiosk, being previewed as a work-in-progress, is an avatar-based reception solution. The live, 24-hour personalized avatar can automate numerous manual office tasks including check-in, message delivery and after-hour call dispatching.

For disaster recovery and remote system monitoring, Merge Managed Services can rely on HIPAA-compliant back-up and availability of images and information. Merge provides technology and business continuity with transmission, backup, storage and recovery of data. Merge eFilm, PACS and RIS/PACS solutions users can leverage Merge's ViewCheck software to ensure secure, 24/7 monitoring and system reporting without the need to add new equipment or IT resources. With remote system monitoring, organizations can focus on clinical excellence in delivery of care, leaving data protection and availability for informatics professionals.

With Fusion Referring Practice Portal, being previewed as a work-in-progress, organizations using Fusion RIS/PACS or Fusion RIS MX can add this module to increase referring practice satisfaction with real-time access to reports and associated images. The HIPAA-compliant, web-based portal also gives physicians access to exam/appointment status and emergency/referral information. Design tools allow customization with facility's logo and service information.

Cedara WebAccess, unveiled in November 2008, a viewer provides access to clinical documents and images over the internet without a download component. Cedara WebAccess is designed with EMR/HIS front-end integration in mind, making access to any number of PACS or XDS sources from within a single physician's workspace. The newest functionality in Cedara WebAccess extends the solution beyond standard DICOM images and data to include viewing for other types of data such as PDF, JPEG, and text.
