Merge Healthcare unveiled its eFilm Software Exchange, Cedara WebAccess and Cedara WebScheduler at the 2008 RSNA conference in December.
The eFilm Software Exchange is an online community that allows organizations to develop, distribute and sell applications related to eFilm Workstation. A new website will showcase new applications created by Merge and third-party developers in the areas of advanced visualization, improved workflow and integration with widely accepted industry tools. Participants in the eFilm Software Exchange have options to share a solution as freeware or position the solutions as commercial applications and benefit financially from their efforts.
Available through Merge’s OEM division, the Cedara WebAccess and Cedara WebScheduler give health IT software providers plug-in portals that help expedite and automate tasks such as patient and resource scheduling and image and information distribution.
Cedara WebAccess is a thin-client DICOM viewer, enabling web distribution of radiology images and reports to the referring physician community and beyond. Users access images and information without waiting for any application or file to download. The technology also reduces IT support for tasks such as upgrading existing workstations, managing enterprise-wide installation or performing ongoing configuration changes. Solutions using Cedara WebAccess can reduce the costs and logistical issues associated with CD burning, film printing and distribution. Cedara WebAccess was designed to be PACS, EMR and HIT solution agnostic.
Cedara WebScheduler provides a solution for healthcare IT application developers that want to add centralized capabilities for managing and scheduling imaging resources. Standard features include patient scheduling, dashboard monitoring of room utilization and modality worklist management to minimize data entry redundancy and errors. The application can be customized per site to account for a customer’s modalities, procedures and referring physicians.
