MGH medical imaging program gains JRCERT accreditation
MGH Institute of Health Professions, an academic affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital, announced that its post-baccalaureate certificate in medical imaging has been accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). The program is the first medical imaging program in the US to combine a completely online academic instruction approach with hands-on laboratory and clinical sessions, which occur in facilities throughout Partners HealthCare. The curriculum is built on a series of 8 to 10 week blocks of online academic study, during which students engage in online discussions with their instructors, and each other, as they meet weekly assignment deadlines. That online study becomes the preparation for the onsite laboratory and clinical rotations that follow each academic block, the organization said.
