Microsoft, Mayo Clinic to develop web-based healthcare tools
The Mayo Clinic’s health solutions division will work with Microsoft’s health solutions group to develop tools to help consumers manage their health and become more engaged with their physicians.

Microsoft said that the partnership will build on its HealthVault web portal platform that offers consumers access to various clinical content and tools.

The Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic Health Solutions offers web-based consumer health tools, including a portal, health risk assessment and content applications. The organization said it offers print and telephonic programs, as well as managed care plans.

The organizations will announce further details concerning their collaboration by the conclusion of 2008.
