Microsoft offers $3M grants for HealthVault proposals
Microsoft will provide $3 million in grants to support research and development of applications that use the company’s HealthVault platform for patient records.

The company said it will solicit proposals that deal with disease prevention, acute care, juvenile disease management, women’s health and social networking for health, and each grant will total up to $500,000.

The grants will be made to not-for-profit healthcare organizations, as well as colleges and universities, according to Microsoft.

Microsoft said applications will be accepted through May 9.
