MIMvista highlights PET/SPECT software
MIMvista demonstrated its MIMneuro software at RSNA 2006 in Chicago, which offers an assortment of tools for PET/SPECT for quantitative analysis of Alzheimer's Disease, other dementias and neurological disorders. The software — which has uses in both clinical and research settings — is able to perform sophisticated non-rigid registrations, facilitating comparisons to a database of age-appropriate normal volunteers. A comprehensive 3-D anatomical brain atlas is included to allow easy localization of structures of interest, according to the company.

The software offers a number of analysis tools enabling clinicians to compare counts in selected regions of interest to normal databases. Voxel based analysis highlights localized abnormalities on a voxel-by-voxel basis. Cluster analysis aids in determining which spatially clustered voxels are significantly abnormal. Stereotactic surface projections (SSPs) are also included for targeted cortical analysis, the company said.
