NEC focuses on improved communications tools
NEC Unified Solutions displayed at HIMSS06 last week in San Diego its TouchPass secure single sign-on solution, a non-intrusive appliance that provides enterprise-wide secure single sign-on for web, client/server and legacy applications. The solution simplifies password management and offers strong authentication options, including biometric finger image technology, smartcards and tokens. TouchPass comes with a comprehensive audit function.

NEC also showed its award-winning OpenWorX Communications Portal, which adds the functionality of location status alerts and directory dialers while providing a common application capable of conducting video conferencing and document collaboration.  Combined with the latest in LCD MultiSync Media Displays and Digital Messaging technologies, NEC’s multi-media tools are about driving decision support.

NEC’s UNIVERGE WL infrastructure and handsets, such as the Dterm PSIII phone and hands-free communication badges, showed how the company can provide reliable communications and patient information availability right at the bedside.
