New Boston Scientific catheters receive CE Mark approval
Boston Scientific has received Conformité Européenne (CE) Mark approval for the Apex Monorail and Over-The-Wire (OTW) PTCA dilatation catheters.
Both Monorail and OTW PTCA catheters are available in two designs for managing patients with complex atherosclerosis.
The Natick, Mass.-based Boston Scientific said its Apex device is a balloon catheter that allows physicians to reach and cross the atherosclerotic lesions and is designed for use with drug-eluting stents. OTW PTCA dilatation catheters are used to open up arteries blocked by atherosclerosis, according to the firm.
