3M Healthcare introduced at ACC a new diagnostic aid for heart sound for its Littmann Electronic Stethoscope Model 4000WS.
3M Sound Analysis software enables Model 4000 stethoscope users to transfer heart sounds from their stethoscope to their Windows based IBM-compatible computer via infrared transmission. They can they play the sounds back in Bell, Diaphragm of Extended Range filter mode and view them on the computer screen.
In addition, the company says that the software will make it possible to share and compare heart sounds.
The analysis tool is included with the purchase of a Model 4000 stethoscope at no additional cost. It is also available free for current owners of this Littmann model. Current owners can go to www.Litmann.com to request their free copy of the software.
