New leadership for GEs MR business
GE Healthcare has promoted Jim Davis to vice president and general manager of its global magnetic resonance (MR) business. He replaces John Chiminski, who is now leading the integration of GE Healthcare’s acquisition of Abbott’s primary in vitro diagnostics businesses and Abbott Point-of-Care diagnostics businesses. Chiminski will lead GE’s new Clinical Diagnostics business following the closing of the acquisition.

Davis began his professional career at GE in GE’s Aircraft Engines business in 1985. In 1987 he was promoted to engineer, systems and performance analysis. Davis then joined McKinsey & Co. Inc. in 1992 where he served clients in the automotive, energy and industrial sector working on operations management, strategy and marketing. He then returned to GE in 1997 and eventually made his way to the leadership team at GE Medical Systems by 2001 as vice president and general manager by U.S. sales and marketing.
