Well, ok, maybe we don't have a new name for PACS. Maybe there will never be a new name. There have been rumblings within the industry that the term PACS (picture archiving and communication systems) no longer accurately reflects the scope of these systems' capabilities or their use across the healthcare enterprise.

Last week we asked readers to come up with a new name, and according to results, many seem to realize that any new term will either have to play off the existing name or have an equally good ring to it (while also being more accurate).
