New Products: Ergotron, RamSoft, RTX Healthcare, Seneca Data, TeraRecon
Ergotron has announced the latest in its StyleView Cart, to be available in the second quarter of 2007. The new point-of-care carts offer improve viewing comfort and enhanced productivity through an expansive range of height adjustment. Twenty inches of sit-to-stand motion is combined with an additional 5 inches of independent monitor height adjustment and 25 degree screen tilt (on flat panel configurations), which benefits nurses and other users, including those who wear progressive lenses. A keyboard tray provides up to 12 degrees of negative tilt—recommended by ergonomists for the proper typing position and reducing the risk of repetitive stress injuries. The enclosed cable management compartment neatly routes and hides cables, making it easy to keep things sanitary.  Also, with an optional 55 Ah power system, StyleView Carts can easily accommodate future hardware upgrades.


RamSoft has released the Gateway Router, an enterprise grade solution for secure DICOM routing and archiving. Gateway Router is currently available for purchase through RamSoft’s new online e-store at a special introductory price and includes online support. Gateway Router is a stand-alone DICOM router and archive combination that enables secure transition of data across the internet. Based on RamSoft’s enterprise grade DICOM and SQL engine, the router can handle large volumes of data from an unlimited number of sources and route with the reliability that organizations come to expect from mission critical applications. Features include: online DICOM archiving; SQL database; enterprise grade DICOM engine; automatic prior exam routing; TLS encryption; and security audit trails.


RTX Healthcare launched the new RTX3370 Telehealth Monitor, a device designed specifically to improve the way of providing healthcare to patients outside hospitals suffering from chronic diseases such as heart failure, COPD, diabetes and other chronic diseases.

The RTX3370 engages the patients through personalized daily interactions and questionnaires while collecting vital signs. The vital signs, such as weight, blood pressure and blood glucose information, are transmitted seamlessly via Bluetooth, InfraRed or RS232 from industry standard wired or wireless peripheral biomedical devices to the RTX3370. All peripheral devices are standard off-the-shelf products from third party industry-leading suppliers. Data are sent through the regular telephone systems and the internet, to the clients own clinical information system using open standards such as Webservices and SSL128. Other unique features of the RTX3370 Telehealth Monitor include a large easy-to-read color display, simple bottoms and speaker for vocalization of the patient dialogue.

TeraRecon plans to distribute its recently FDA 510(k)-cleared, small footprint, seated PreXion 3D Cone Beam Dental CT (CBCT) scanner for implantology imaging applications. The PreXion 3D scanner is designed for dental offices that seek to perform in-office surgical implant procedures. The scanner features an optimum balance between image resolution and field of view for implantology applications, and a flat panel image acquisition system capable of acquiring up to 1,024 high-resolution projection images per rotation. The console comes equipped with TeraRecon’s world-leading real-time 3D volume rendering visualization as standard.

As a complement to the scanner, TeraRecon offers the PreXionNET Server, powered by the company’s Aquarius technology, to effectively manage the CBCT imaging workflow in a dental practice. The PreXionNET Server provides storage for image data and real-time interactive 3D at regular PCs on the facility’s network, for physician review or patient consultation. PreXionNET also enables remote interactive 3D manipulation when used with an appropriately-configured VPN connection. This makes possible remote consultation with experts for challenging cases, and in a laboratory setting, immediate access to acquired scans for clients to review or download, as appropriate.
