Texas Instruments (TI) has made a digital signal processor (DSP) available, which is designed for medical imaging systems. The DSP includes two gigabit Ethernet MAC ports and one gigabit switch, which monitor the data stream to ensure that only the appropriate packets consume DSP performance, according to the Dallas-based TI.
