Teleradiology provider NightHawk Radiology Holdings posted fiscal 2009 third quarter net income of $1.7 million, down from the $3.2 million reported in the same quarter a year ago
Service revenue did see a slight increase in the third quarter, which ended Sept. 30. Driven by a record total exam volume of 865,000 scans, the service revenue figure was $43.45 million in the third quarter compared with $43.44 million for the same period a year ago.
Operating income for 2009’s third quarter was $5.2 million; also a decline from $6.9 million in the previous year-ago quarter. Total operating costs and expenses went up as well from the 2008 third quarter figure of $36.5 million to this year's third quarter figure of 38.2 million.
Revenue for the 2009 fourth quarter is expected to be in the range of $38 to $40 million, according to the firm.
