Novation and University HealthSystem to utilize E-Z-EM technology
Novation, a healthcare contracting services company in Irving, Texas, and University HealthSystem Consortium of Oak Brook, Ill., has awarded E-Z-EM an agreement for its extravasation detection accessory (EDA) technology for Empower CT and CTA injector systems.

The Lake Success, N.Y.-based E-Z-EM said that its EDA technology measures electrical variances in the skin’s surface that can occur when contrast is accidentally injected into soft tissue, and can automatically halt the injection before tissue damage occurs.

The agreement became effective Sept. 1, and includes an option for a one-year extension.
