Nuance reports positive Q4 results
Nuance Communications posted increased revenues and decreased losses for the fourth fiscal 2007 fourth quarter (end-Sept. 30), based on generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

For the quarter, the Burlington, Mass.-based Nuance reported revenues of $179.9 million, a 40 percent increase over revenues of $128.1 million in the same quarter last year.

The company recognized a net loss of $3.4 million compared with a net loss of $7.2 million in the fourth quarter last year.

Nuance said its GAAP figures exclude revenues lost to purchase accounting in conjunction with the company’s acquisition of BeVocal, VoiceSignal Technologies and Tegic Communications.
