According to ODS Medical, enhancements include: mixed media support that enables the system to be configured to automatically switch between CD-R and DVD-R media based on the size of the data set; enhanced DICOM connectivity configurability; Email support that enables administrators a convenient way to email system logs files as well as configuration files to ODS Medical Technical Support; and departmentalization, which allows users to create logical departments within both the PACScomm and PACSstor systems.
   
ODS Medical PACScomm CD/DVD Image Recording System is an alternative for duplicating film, recording both CD and DVD media. PACScomm features a Web based network architecture, outside disk import and an integrated design in a single compact unit. It supports filmless operations for multiple modalities for hospitals, imaging centers, and medical practices. PACScomm supports HIPAA requirements and is DICOM compliant.
   
PACSstor Image Storage System is a high performance RAID based image archive that connects to digital modalities, workstations and PACS.  The technology is designed for mid- to small size hospitals and imaging centers. The defining difference between PACSstor and basic storage devices is the DICOM software layer and the Image Management software.
