Orex deploys its 200th CR unit to the military
The military purchased its 200th Orex Computed Radiography (CR) system from SourceOne Healthcare Technologies Inc., of Mentor, Ohio.

The latest units were sold to the U.S. Navy for installation at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. According to Orex, other CR systems are in use in Iraq, Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia, as well as in special operations and maneuvers throughout the world. The U.S. Army, Special Forces, Navy and Air Force use advanced Orex CR.

The compact system produces immediate diagnostic x-ray images in digital format, allowing medical personnel to speed assistance to patients in isolated locations or injured in battle. Military personnel are able to take images on the battlefield and burn them to a CD that is sent with the patient to a field hospital. The unit's digital connectivity also permits remote image communication for diagnosis over the Internet or network connections.
