OrthoView displayed its preoperative planning tool for orthopedic surgeons at SIIM 2007 in Providence, R.I., last week. The solution is sold directly and through partners. It allows for scaling of digital images for greater accuracy. A set of intuitive Wizards support the planning process. OrthoView contains a high quality and large range of digital templates from all the major orthopedic implant manufacturers.

Version 5 will begin shipping shortly. Integrated through PACS, the tool focuses on joint replacements, pediatric assessments and trauma patients. OrthoView's Trauma Module allows for rapid planning and templating of trauma cases. The Paediatric Assessment Module contains a comprehensive toolset specifically designed to help assess congenital deformities. The plate bending that was available in version 4 was very useful to surgeons but they asked for tools for planning limb deformity correction.
