Pentax introduced HD programmable video endoscopic system
Pentax Medical introduced the new EPK-i Video Endoscopic System and i-Flex scopes for physicians specializing in gastroenterology, hepatology, endoscopy and gastrointestinal (GI) surgery. The system is being premiered at the Digestive Disease Week (DDW) in Washington D.C., May 19-24.

The EPK-i is a computer-controlled digital processing system providing a resolution of 1.25 megapixels, 50 percent higher than other existing systems, according to Pentax, and is designed for both upper and lower GI tracks.

The system addresses procedure productivity for physicians and helps minimize downtime. It is able to do this by providing uncomplicated advanced imaging technology, coupled with automation and other features helpful for productivity. The system enables physicians to share images through a network for immediate consultation; grants the ability to automate benchmarking for algorithms; and provides on-demand remote equipment service.
