PerkinElmer, a health sciences and photonics company, has expanded its digital x-ray detector fabrication facility in Santa Clara, Calif.

The 80,000-square foot facility produces amorphous silicon digital x-ray detector panels for use in radiography, angiography, cardiovascular imaging, and radiation oncology.

Capacity from the fabrication expansion will begin to come online in the fourth quarter of this year, according to the company.
