PerkinElmer shows Q3 uptick
PerkinElmer posted positive results in revenue and profit for its fiscal 2007 third quarter (end-Sept. 30).
Based on generally accepted accounting principles for the third quarter, the Waltham, Mass.-based PerkinElmer reported operating profit was $45.8 million for the third quarter of 2007, compared with $36.5 million for the same period last year.
Revenue for the period was $435.7 million, an increase of 13 percent versus the third quarter of fiscal 2006. Revenue from Health Sciences represented 84 percent of total revenues for the third quarter, an increase from last year of 13 percent that the firm attributes to strong growth in genetic screening, medical imaging and service, according to PerkinElmer.
