Philips, NTC partner for training and education
Philips Medical Systems and Northcentral Technical College (NTC) of Wausau, Wis., have inked a five-year agreement for the implementation of advanced medical imaging equipment and the development of a comprehensive training program for medical practioners and developing medical imaging professionals.
   
According to Philips, the training courses and technology demonstrations for students, technologists and regional healthcare facilities will expand NTC's current health program. Education and training will be provided at a new 126,000 square foot facility, located on the NTC campus in Wausau.  
   
NTC said it teamed with Philips to offer customized training courses utilizing advanced imaging technologies such Philips' PACS, x-ray, ultrasound, MR and CT.
   
NTC is one of 16 technical college districts in Wisconsin, covering parts of 10 counties and nearly 5,700 square miles. Training and education will include regional campuses in areas such as Antigo, Phillips, Medford, Spencer and Wittenberg. Experts from NTC and Philips educational staff will work together to develop programs to educate current and future technologists on cutting-edge diagnostic imaging systems, Philips said.  
   
As part of the five-year agreement with NTC, Philips will install a number of systems that are used for medical imaging, radiology and radiography. Additionally, the facility also will install two workstations-one for MR and one for CT-enabling students to analyze and edit images.
