Philips releases disposable SpO2 pulse oximetry sensor
Philips Medical Systems has received FDA clearance for a new single-patient, disposable SpO2 pulse oximetry sensor.
The SpO2 disposable sensor provides accurate SpO2 measurements with one size that comfortably fits a range of sizes, from adult to pediatric patients, Philips said. Keeping in mind ease of use, comfort, and reliability, the sensor's ergonomic design provides automatic alignment for a fast, secure fit. Clinicians can easily reposition and reapply the sensors as needed, according to Philips.
The disposable SpO2 sensor is compatible with Philips, Agilent, Hewlett-Packard, and qualified Nellcor monitors. In addition, all Philips sensors are compatible with Philips FAST algorithm technology, which can discern a steady signal during patient movement and supports an array of SpO2 sensors in the industry.
