Philips, Skytron to provide hybrid surgical rooms for minimally invasive procedures
Royal Philips Electronics and Skytron have partnered to deliver hybrid operating rooms for minimally invasive cardiovascular surgical procedures.

The solution combines Philips’ cardiovascular x-ray systems with Skytron’s surgery room equipment to enable clinicians to treat cardiovascular patients in the same room, the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Skytron said.

Philips will provide interventional x-ray equipment and specialized imaging tables, while Skytron will deliver advanced operating room communications control integration, surgical lighting and boom technologies specifically designed to support hybrid surgical suites. As a result, care providers will be able to carry out a wide range of image-guided interventional radiology procedures including cardiovascular, vascular and cardiac surgery, neurosurgery and orthopedics, according to both companies.

Skytron and Philips said they will work together across North and South America, including Latin America and Canada.
