Picis, Ibex Healthdata Systems merge
ICU and OR information system vendor Picis Inc. and ER information system vendor Ibex Healthdata Systems Inc. this week announced they have merged to form a combined entity that will provide technology to automate and support healthcare organizations' high-acuity care areas - the emergency department (ED), operating room (OR) and intensive care unit (ICU).

Under the terms of the agreement, Picis will retain its name and maintain its current operations. Ibex Healthdata Systems will now be called, Ibex, a Picis company, which will continue to offer emergency department information systems and service to hospital clients integrated to the Picis OR and ICU suite of products.

Mark Crockett will serve as president of Ibex, a Picis company, and will join the Picis board of directors. Todd Cozzens will remain president, CEO and vice chairman of the board for the combined company.

The pair said the merged entity is now made up of approximately 320 employees, and has a customer base of more than 900 medical centers and integrated delivery networks (IDN) worldwide, including Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, The Mayo Clinic, Methodist Health of Houston, Mount Sinai Medical Center of New York, National Health Service of the United Kingdom, New York-Presbyterian Health System, Rush University Medical Center, Stanford Hospital and Clinics, Sutter Health, University of California San Francisco Medical Center and University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
