R2 Technology Inc. and Mammography Reporting System Inc. (MRS) have signed a three-year distribution agreement for the MRS Mammography Reporting System.
MRS and R2 will continue development work to enhance interpretative workflow by integrating the computer-aided detection (CAD) display from R2's ImageChecker system with the MRS Mammography Reporting System. R2 also will receive distribution rights to the MRS software.
R2 estimates that it has more than 1,000 systems installed worldwide to assist radiologists in the detection of breast cancer. The R2 ImageChecker CAD system is approved by the FDA for use in both film-based and digital mammography.
The MRS Mammography Reporting System generates a radiologist's exam report and an automatically selected lay-language patient result letter. It also is designed to track problem cases, generate follow-up letters and provide medical audit and practice management statistical reports.
