Regulatory news: Initia-RT gets European nod for treatment planning system
Tel Aviv, Israel-based company Initia-RT received a CE Mark for its CrossPlan treatment planning software, allowing the company to distribute the product in the European markets.  CrossPlan is advanced treatment planning software capable of IMRT (intensity modulated radiotherapy), IMAT (intensity modulated arc therapy) and 3D planning using the company’s TrackLeaf cross-leaf mMLC (micro, multi-leaf collimator).  Enhanced image fusion, IMAT and graphic display functionality has been added, as well as support for angiographic imaging. In addition, CrossPlan comes equipped with a full Dicom RT suite, allowing two-way communication with third party virtual simulation and planning applications. This will allow the customer to utilize already existing workstations and workflow in their environment to pre-plan the patient appointment and export the data file to CrossPlan for final dose computation.
