RSNA: InSite One selected for PHR demonstration
InSite One (Booth 3819) has been selected to demonstrate its InDex Image Sharing Portal for the sharing of medical exams and associated reports developed under a contract between the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering, at the RNSA conference in Chicago, Nov. 28 to Dec. 3.

The demonstration will show how participating institutions are allowing their patients to manage access to their medical imaging exams for consultations and retain them as part of a personal health record (PHR). The RSNA IHE Imaging Sharing Demonstration will take place in Booth 2852 and will provide attendees with sample images and reports, and allow them to send them to a “clearinghouse,” retrieve them for viewing in a PHR, archive them for future access, invite others to view them and download them to a local device.

In January 2011, five anchor institutions, Mount Sinai in New York CIty, Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., University of California San Francisco, University of Chicago and the University of Maryland in Baltimore, will provide patients with the ability to select InDex Image Sharing Portal to manage their medical imaging exams and associated reports during a two-year trial period for the RSNA Image Sharing Network Pilot project, according to the Wallingford, Conn.-based company.
