RSNA names new leadership
At the annual meeting in Chicago this week RSNA named new leadership, with R. Gilbert Jost, MD, named as president of its Board of Directors, and Gary J. Becker has been named chairman of the Board. Also, the organization has named a new President-Elect, Theresa C. McLoud, MD.

Jost was elected to the Board back in 1999, and is the Elizabeth Mallinckrodt Professor of Radiology at Washington University School of Medicine, director of the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology and radiologist-in-chief at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. Jost has been very active in the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Planning Committee and the IHE Strategic Committee, and has been a proponent of the DICOM standard.

Becker is a professor of vascular and interventional radiology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, and associate director for diagnostic radiology and subspecialties at the American Board of Radiology in Tuscon, Az. In his new role, he hopes to solidify RSNA’s role in quantitative imaging.

McLoud is currently the associate radiologist-in-chief and director of education for the Department of Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and is also a Harvard professor. Her aim as president is to continue the organization’s focus on international radiology and quality improvement efforts related to adult education.
