Saint Francis PHO whittles its choice to Misys Healthcare Systems' Vision
Saint Francis Physician Hospital Organization (PHO) has selected Misys Healthcare Systems' Misys Vision as its new enterprise-wide patient management technology.

The Hartford, Conn.- based PHO is a partnership between Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center and more than 600 community physicians. The plan is to have its first group of physicians - approximately 30 primary care providers -- using Misys Vision by early fall. The organization will continue to add providers to the system until some 400 physicians and their staff are on board.

Saint Francis PHO President and CEO Jess Kupec said one reason for the Misys was the company's continuing investment in its electronic medical records (EMR) product.

The PHO began evaluating patient management products over a year ago and held discussion with 12 vendors. The PHO narrowed its field to three vendors before deciding on Misys Vision, which uses a single patient database to provide a patient-centered approach to practice management and clinical care.
