Sectra to unveil upgraded Orthopedic PACS
Sectra will unveil the latest iteration of its Orthopedic PACS at the 2009 American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) meeting, which will be held later this month in Las Vegas, Nev.
Additional functionality in the web-based application allows a user to view current and prior images, view reports and preoperatively plan as needed, according to the Shelton, Conn.-based company. Sectra said its RapidConnect technology allows Sectra PACS to overcome challenges associated with reduced bandwidth and latency experienced at remote clinics and locations. Compression algorithms and streaming technologies, client-server protocols and data reduction are relevant to workflow in an orthopedic environment.
