Siemens Healthcare is planning to acquire CAS Innovations to strengthen its computer-assisted surgery sector.

The agreement has now concluded between the two companies and they have agreed not to reveal the purchase price, according to Siemens. However, the antitrust authorities still have to approve the transaction.

CAS Innovations of Erlangen, Germany, manufactures surgical navigation systems which improve planning for operations. The company, which has 27 employees, primarily focuses on systems for trauma surgery and orthopedics for hip, knee and spine operations, as well as on interventional radiology.
