Siemens Healthcare has developed a detector for its CT scanners that can transmit analog data with minimal wiring,  which the company said is designed to limit interference.

The Stellar Detector combines the analysis electronics on one chip, which means it can convert the analog signals from the photo diode to digital signals without having to push signals through a wiring system that would negatively impact the signal-to-electronic-noise ratio, according to Siemens.

The company is offering the Stellar Detector in its Somatom Definition Flash and Somatom Definition Edge CT scanners.
