The Siemens Medical Solutions business segment of Berlin-based Siemens showed an increase in total revenue and group profit for its fiscal 2007 third quarter (end-June 30).

For the period, the group saw its worldwide total revenue rise to 2.4 billion euros ($3.3 billion, U.S.) from 1.8 billion euros ($2.5 billion) for the equivalent quarter in fiscal 2006. Group profit for the business segment also demonstrated strong growth, with the current period showing 307 million euros ($420 million) in profit in comparison with the 2006 third quarter numbers of 234 million euros ($320 million).
