Siemens tackles ultrasound workflow with upgrades at AIUM
Siemens Medical Solutions is unveiling this week the release 10.0 for its multi-specialty SONOLINE G60 S ultrasound system at the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine meeting, Washington, D.C. The company also will showcase the new, off-line image analysis software called fourSight ViewTool for the ACUSON Antares ultrasound system, premium edition, which is designed to help increase patient throughput.

The release for the G60 S system enhances fourSight 4D ultrasound imaging technology for easy 4D volume acquisition and workflow support, enabling reduced exam acquisition and post processing time.

Additionally, TGO tissue grayscale optimization technology on the G60 S system is designed to produce consistent high quality imaging, and the CH5-2 transducer with Hanafy Lens transducer technology is now available for superb performance in deep abdominal and Ob/Gyn exams.

The fourSight ViewTool on the ACUSON Antares ultrasound system, premium edition, offers physicians the convenience of reviewing and analyzing 2D and 3D/4D volume data on a PC or laptop running Windows XP Professional, without interrupting a department’s operations. The premium edition delivers a higher level of diagnostic confidence with excellent 2D, 4D, color Doppler and contrast agent imaging, and provides integrated tools for clinical practices and research institutions.

Finally, the company is introducing its next generation release for the ACUSON Cypress cardiovascular system, a highly portable system. The feature release includes streamlined workflow through its home-base user design; a high-resolution, 12-inch tilt screen LCD with an integrated design for console or tabletop use; and a comprehensive set of cardiac vascular applications. The new Cypress system release, PLUS, which is designed for both hospital and private office environments, will be available to customers at the end of April 2006.
