SIMS partnership adds four more hospitals
North York General Hospital in New York, Ontario and Toronto-based hospitals COTA Health, St. Joseph's Health Centre and Toronto East General Hospital have decided to collaborate and join Shared Information Management Services (SIMS), an information management and technology group that is now shared between 13 healthcare systems.
The Toronto-based SIMS said it works to integrate the entire partnership, including confidential online sharing of patient information to help referrals and reduce the amount of transcription errors and patient waiting time.
The addition of the four healthcare organizations impacts SIMS’ reach within the acute care sector, while COTA Health is the group's first foray deep into the provision of care in the community, according to SIMS.
