Smiths releases normal viewing implantable ports
Smiths Medical has introduced new implantable ports with CT identifiers intended for easy viewing with x-rays or CT scout scans.

Smiths' Port-a-Cath and P.A.S. Port Power P.A.C. enable power injections of contrast for CT, as well as long-term delivery of medications, such as for patients undergoing chemotherapy. According to Smiths, the top of each port now includes an easy-to-see CT identifier, so that the radiopaque letters "CT" can be read normally (rather than backwards) under scout scans.

The Ashford, U.K.-based Smiths manufactures specialist medical devices and equipment, focusing on medication delivery, vital care and safety devices.
