SonoSite Inc. sees sales growth but overall loss

Portable ultrasound maker SonoSite has reported revenue for Q1 2006 up 9 percent to $36.9 million compared with $34 million in Q1 2005. Overall, U.S. revenue grew 15 percent in Q1 over the prior year with sales growing 45 percent largely from direct sales. The company's U.S. enterprise sales – primarily comprised of sales to governmental entities – declined 57 percent in Q1 2006 due to the high volume of project orders in 2005.
