Last week SonoSite Inc. announced worldwide revenue in the Q2 2006 that was up 18 percent to $39.5 million compared with $33.5 million in the Q2 of 2005. During the second quarter, total US revenue grew 19 percent to $20.2 million and international revenue grew 17 percent to $19.3 million compared with the prior year quarter. For the first half of 2006, worldwide revenue grew 13 percent to $76.4 million compared with $67.5 million for the first half of the prior year. The first half of 2005 included over $3 million of enterprise project revenue from US and international government entities and impacted the growth comparison with 2006, the company said.

Additionally, for the Q2 2006, SonoSite reported net income of $1.3 million compared with a net loss of $2.1 million in 2005. For the first half of 2006, SonoSite reported net income of $931,000 compared with a net loss of $1.3 million in the comparable period of the prior year.
