Sony Electronics will introduce its next-generation FilmStation dry-film imager model UP-DF500 with updated features at the Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA) meeting next week in Denver. 

Debuting in the updated device is an automatic calibration feature that adjusts printing parameters to optimize performance when film media is replaced, according to the Park Ridge, N.J.-based Sony. The company also said that it added gamma curves to fine tune grayscale compatibility with a range of imaging devices.

Network parameters can be saved directly to the FilmStation’s memory, streamlining use in mobile applications where network settings are changed regularly, the company said.
