Sorna launches new OB CD/DVD publishing system
Sorna launched Reviewer CD and myBabyCD CD/DVD publishing system at the 94th Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) in Chicago.

Reviewer CD is a free DICOM viewer for healthcare treatment and healthcare IT professionals.

“Physicians are frustrated with all the different viewers on CDs they get. They asked us for a consistent viewing platform for their incoming CD/DVDs. We responded,” said Cyrus Samari, vice president of sales and marketing.

He said that the Reviewer CD is designed for ease of use and rapid display of DICOM images from any modality. It can be installed on any computer running Microsoft Windows 2000, XP or Vista operating systems and can be easily upgraded to other Reviewer editions to expand features and functionality.

Reviewer-Obstetrics Edition is a low-cost, networked DICOM CD/DVD publishing system designed specifically for obstetrics practices. It creates DICOM CD/DVDs of diagnostic images containing an embedded DICOM viewer, archival or back-up DICOM DVDs, and CDs for patients of display-only grayscale ultrasound, color Doppler and 3D fetal images. Reviewer-Obstetrics Edition incorporates Sorna’s myBabyCD easy-to-use, customizable image management software, label creation software supporting multiple templates and an Elysys DUET manual CD/DVD burner. A built-in printer creates a photographic quality custom identity directly onto the CD/DVD. The system produces a typical CD in less than two minutes while occupying minimal space in a physician’s office. myBabyCD software enables users to add additional elements to the CD/DVDs being created, such as information about pregnancy, diagnostic procedures and the obstetrics practice for patient CDs. A DICOM viewer is embedded on DICOM CDs.
