Sourcecorp mammo archive product aids filmless environment
Sourcecorp Radiology debuted an advanced mammography solution for its Total Archiving Program (TAP), which allows immediate elimination of a site’s hardcopy file room and complete conversion to filmless workflow, during the 2008 Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) conference in Seattle.

The Louisville, Ky.-based company said its TAP now provides the services and IT infrastructure that support large mammography datasets, enabling a site that has converted to digital to eliminate onsite hardcopy storage of their prior analog exams.

As part of the program, Sourcorp said that TAP works with a site to inventory and transport all existing patient image files to its operations center.

The TAP system also is able to access full patient DICOM data from the mammography modality worklist to send to the site with the digital image files, and the data is available in DICOM MG format with full-field mammography hanging protocols, the company said.
