Spacelabs Healthcare consolidates for focused growth
Spacelabs Healthcare Inc., a diversified global developer, manufacturer and seller of medical systems and services, was listed and began trading on the AIM in London on Oct. 31, 2005. The company was recently formed through the consolidation of the healthcare businesses of its major shareholder and parent company, Nasdaq-listed OSI Systems Inc.

Spacelabs Healthcare operates through several businesses, including Spacelabs Medical, a global leader in patient monitoring; Blease, an international provider of anesthesia delivery systems; and Medical Solutions, providing complementary medical products and services to customers worldwide. No changes in day-to-day business operations are anticipated as a result of the consolidation. Each company will continue to operate under its own brand name. Spacelabs Healthcare has established an independent board and management team focused exclusively on the healthcare business. This division is headed up by Deepak Chopra, CEO, and Sir John Banham, non-executive chairman.

According to the October 2005 survey results from MD Buyline, Spacelab Medical's patient monitors and ECG telemetry earned the highest scores based on user satisfaction composite ratings. Further, in a recent independent survey of customers, Spacelabs Medical service was rated 4.7 out of 5.0.
