Study launched to test Konica Minoltas Regius Pureview mammo system
A new clinical pilot study is being undertaken by the University of Chicago Hospital to test the REGIUS PureView Mammography System from Konica Minolta Medical Imaging. The system is the only medical imaging x-ray system that uses a Phased Contrast Imaging Technique. According to the company, the system offers considerable edge enhancement and higher contrast of the image, and when coupled with computer radiography can increase the resolution and sharpness of an image.

The study – which will involve 100 patient participants – also will do a comparison of the quality of image acquisition of various digital mammography systems, and will include film-screen systems. Also, the study will be used to compare digital systems for diagnostic studies as opposed to screening exams.
